☄ FOX MULDER ☄

Age: 38
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Link to picture/PB of character: Here.
Marked Status: Unmarked
Residence: Kings Street, Quadrate House, Upper Cove

☄ APPEARANCE ☄
Mulder is six feet tall, and of lean, lanky build. It's easy to see that he keeps in decent shape, having an athletic form. He keeps his brown hair cut short and neat. His eyes are hazel-green, and he tends to wear glasses for reading. For the most part, though, he has no unusual distinguishing marks. He's got a wide range of expressions he'll make, tending to be especially good at throwing in the really ironic, sarcastic looks when the opportunity arises. Despite this he also knows when it's necessary to keep a straight face. Generally he'll be seen wearing a suit and tie, though there are instances where he prefers more casual closes. His appearance is rather neat and tidy, probably not what one might expect. Still, he doesn't seem to pay it much more attention beyond what's necessary. For all of his "spooky" reputation, he really just looks like an average human being.

☄ PERSONALITY ☄
Mulder is a big geek. He has a very witty sense of humor, and rarely misses the opportunity to make sarcastic remarks. When something interests him, he delves into it to an insane degree. Enough that he comes off almost crazy to those who don't understand his motives. His nickname of Spooky was well earned among his colleagues.

An intelligent and observant man, Mulder is not really the type of person who openly seeks out a social life. Because of his experiences, his work became a crusade to him, something he can rarely set aside. When he is finally forced to take some free time for himself, he's more likely to spend it sitting at home watching some porn classic sci-fi movie for the hundredth time than anything else. He also prefers physical activities he can do on his own- swimming, jogging, or shooting basketball hoops.

He gets really curious and talkative around people he finds interesting, but isn't one to disclose a lot of personal information right away. Paranoia keeps him at least a little bit careful in that regard. He can't be sure what others' motives are, or if they're part of some sort of conspiracy. He has a lot of suspicion of authority.

His obsessive attitude also naturally applies to all paranormal things. He's also very open toward believing in most anything, no matter how strange. For someone so bent on finding the truth- not to
mention having that infamous paranoia- he can still be really gullible when he wants to believe a certain way. Scully's skeptical tendencies have rubbed off a little, but he still remains the type to believe first and question it later.

Indeed, he often goes overboard with his interest in the unexplained. Mulder has a tendency to push his own beliefs too strongly when he thinks he's right. He will do anything to achieve his goals of unmasking the truth, no matter how unorthodox it seems… and he also isn't afraid of bending and breaking a few rules to get there.

☄ STRENGTHS ☄
Mulder's high intelligence was well known in the FBI, and he has been known to outwit his opponents on many occasions. He thinks outside conventional ways and generally ends up several steps ahead of others because of that. His memory is also excellent, near photographic in nature. As such, he remembers bizarre details about the paranormal especially- something which might help him understand what makes the weirder citizens tick. He's in good shape, since he regularly jogs and exercises. Thus, Mulder can chase people down pretty fast. That, and he has plenty of experience using a gun. He's also capable of beating people up if he has to. He's tenacious to the point of obsession, which means he tends to work harder than most people on a given problem.

☄ WEAKNESSES ☄
Despite being well trained as an agent, Mulder is still only human. (A fact he must woe over just a little bit XD). Thus, he is not nearly as strong or fast or durable as someone with supernatural powers. He'd also be vulnerable to magic or anything similar, having no abilities of this nature to counter it. He also has a tendency toward recklessness when he's stirred to it, and charges into situations without thinking it through. The man really doesn't know how to mind his own business when he's after answers. His disregard for most authority also works against him a lot of the time. While he believes in justice and ethics, he really doesn't mind breaking lesser rules to get his job done... this gets him in trouble a great deal of the time. That obsessive nature also can backfire against him

☄ HISTORY ☄

Fox Mulder grew up in a seemingly typical family, until the day when his younger sister, Samantha, was abducted from the room in front of his eyes. He was convinced that aliens were responsible, and since that time devoted his life toward finding her. This was the driving force that would lead him eventually to his position in the FBI.

His family carried on as best as they could, and Mulder eventually graduated with a degree in psychology from Oxford, going to the FBI academy afterward. From there, he started out with work in profiling, heading into the violent crimes unit. Throughout his career, he showed excellent potential, and was always given outstanding recognition for his work. However, his tendency to believe in strange theories gave him a reputation as a weirdo. When he reopened and started work on the bizarre cases known as X-Files, this reputation was cemented. "Spooky" Mulder, as he was known to his colleagues, began to investigate cases related to unusual phenomena. From aliens to conspiracy theories to the supernatural, there was no area he would leave unexplored.

Eventually, though, Mulder's obsessive work with the paranormal caught the attention of the wrong people. The shadowy figures working in the government assigned another agent, Dana Scully, to watch over and debunk his work. At first, Mulder was skeptical of her motives. But after working together on enough cases, he grew to trust his partner. Indeed, she became the only one he felt he could confide in as plots thickened and the conspiracy deepened. Mulder ultimately sought to expose the plots being covered up by unknown individuals working in high levels of the government. Uncovering the truth about the existence of extraterrestrials became his main obsession.

Mulder's crusade at work led to several tragedies along the way. He lost his father because he had been involved in the conspiracy, and Scully lost people close to her, including her sister. There were several times when it appeared Samantha had been returned, only for it to be revealed later that they were simply clones, created by the conspiracy. Mulder also very nearly lost Scully when she was abducted and infected with cancer as an indirect result.

He also made many contacts who supplied him with information, but very often the job placed these contacts in considerable danger as well. He even suffered his own doubts about his work, and saw the X-Files very nearly shut down for good several times. His drive to expose the truth made him some dangerous enemies and put his life on the line several times. Yet he was still determined not to give up his quest.

Eventually, more troubles would befall the agents, leading the X-Files to not only be shut down, but the agents reassigned to menial assignments such as background checks. Even during this time, Mulder failed to follow protocol, still researching cases that peaked his interest. When they finally got the Files back in their hands, things returned to a normal state for at least a little while. He and Scully grew closer, and endured more of the usual supernatural hardships.

One case in particular- that of a missing child- revealed a connection to Samantha's disappearance. Through this case Mulder discovered that his sister had in fact died some time ago, after being the subject of conspiracy-run experiments. Technically, her spirit had been taken away by mysterious forces in order to save her from what she'd gone through... but it meant the same thing. She was gone. The long search had come to an end. This brought Mulder the closure he'd long been seeking, even if it wasn't the answer he was hoping for.

But the case that really changed everything occurred later that year, when Mulder and Scully returned to investigate at the scene of their first assignment. Signs pointed to Scully being in danger, and he urged her to step back from the investigation. However, the very opposite ended up being true. Mulder was abducted from the site and taken away to be subjected to experiments... which ultimately led to his death. It is at this point where he will enter Template.
